Madame Tussauds: Do the Jonny
Hi-jacking the news agenda with an iconic image

Positioning Madame Tussauds as the 'barometer of fame' means ensuring we capture the zeitgeist and when England reached the Rugby World Final in 2007 we saw a nation unite in a moment of hope and optimism.

With a figure of Jonnny Wilkinson already in the attraction, freerange created an iconic image by placing the wax figure of Jonny Wilkinson on the fourth plinth at Trafalgar Square. Engineering the stunt in only three days, the team secured permission from the Mayor of London's office and then worked round the clock to make it happen.

An early morning, tightly controlled photocall along with live OBs from GMTV and BBC Breakfast News saw the story gather momentum throughout the day, resulting in global coverage and almost blanket national newspaper coverage on the day of the match.
